Sarah d’Ambrumenil
I’ve been living in Quy for a few years with my partner, little boy and Hattie the dog. I love the community feel of the village, the surrounding beautiful countryside and still being a stone’s throw from Cambridge. We’ve got the best of all worlds and I am pleased to be able to do something to help the community. When not at parish council meetings, you’ll find me at Book Club, the Parents and Carers Group or cycling between Quy and Cambridge.

I moved to the village in 2008 and love being part of Quy. I have been on the parish council since 2010 and have been involved in a number of projects such as lowering the speed limit through the village and organising the 2011 jubilee. I have taken a range of roles within the Parish Council including serving on the finance committee, being the parish council rep for the Quy Village Association (which I have also been a member of for over 10 years, helping to organise events in the village) and the Village Hall committee. Since 2015, I have been chairman, leading the meetings and making sure that the parish council represents the villagers of Quy, taking issues to our local MPs, housing associations and district and county councillors.

Although a newcomer I hope I can play a useful part in our village community, helping to address the challenges to our environment and the growing tensions of tradition and modernisation, old industries and new industries. I grew up in a rural community in North Essex and am concerned about local transport, affordable housing and accessible services. I’ve really enjoyed meeting my fellow villagers and am grateful for the sense of community there is. I hope I can contribute to its preservation.

I am committed to helping make our village as pleasant and safe and friendly as possible for everyone to enjoy both young and old !
I am particularly interested in pursuing the ongoing Traffic Calming measures we are faced with through the village
Sport and Recreation has always been important to me which will hopefully help improve our amenities within the village
My professional life will hopefully allow me to be a positive influence in Planning and Construction based projects as well !

Having lived in the village all my life I genuinely care about he community and hope being a councillor will give me the opportunity to make a difference and get involved with local projects.
I work on the Quy Farm Estate and in my spare time I breed rare breeds of sheep and have a collection of vintage tractors which I enjoy restoring.

My wife and I moved to Quy just over two years ago, but I’ve lived in and around Cambridge for over twenty years. We’ve really appreciated the friendly welcome we’ve received from the village and had fun supporting local activities such as the annual fete, and exploring the local countryside. We’ve also taken a keen interest in the various developments around the village, and I am excited to contribute to the communtity and represent villagers’ views on such issues.

Parish Clerk
Mrs Sam Chambers-Turner
I have lived in Quy for nearly 40 years, moving here with my Mum and Dad. My Grandparents lived in Quy also, so from a very young age I spent most holidays and weekends in and around the village. I became Parish Clerk in 2020 and since then I have taken on another four parishes and also a Community Land Trust, all of which keep me busy! I have been lucky to bring my own children up in the village, who are now at the stage where they are bringing their own children up within the village also. Quy has changed over the years but it still keeps its basis of community spirit.
