Reach Fair Monday 6th May 2024

Reach Fair is officially opened every year by the Mayor Of Cambridge on the early Bank Holiday Monday.  Traditionally the Mayor throws pennies to people lining the route to the Fair.  However,  last year the Mayor did not carry out this ancient tradition, but has agreed to stop in strategic places along the route this year.   The planned stops are as follows:

Stow Cum Quy:              in the lay-by just past the offices on Stow Road before the last traffic calming measure.

Lode:                                in the  lay-by just after the entrance to Anglesey Abbey and the crossroads

Longmeadow:               immediately before the end of Longmeadow outside the White House

Swaffham Bulbeck:    at the bus stop on the Denny side of the High Street opposite the shop

Swaffham Prior:          at the bottom of Rogers Road before turning right to Reach.

It is suggested that those wishing to collect some pennies should line the route from 11am.
